About DJ Love

Frank McCright, aka DJ Love, began his DJ career in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1988. Influenced by classic hip-hop, early house, and the rise of electronic music, he landed his first gig at a local teen club called Club Elite. After building a strong following, he moved to Norman, Oklahoma, in 1991 to DJ at Rome XC. The following year, in October 1992, he helped launch the local rave movement by organizing the very first rave in Oklahoma. During this time, his passion for breakbeat music took root, leading to the formation of The Pozitribe crew with DJ Krispe, DJ Diverse, and Cody Bates—an influential force in shaping the early OKC electronic scene and paving the way toward music production.

By 1994, Love had purchased his first production gear and founded his own record label, Stellar Music, determined to share his sound despite the challenges independent artists faced. That same year, he began headlining events in the Dallas rave scene. In 1997, he relocated to Dallas and released his debut record, the Straight Out Da Gate EP—a rare vinyl pressing limited to just 100 copies.

Over the years, DJ Love became a fixture in Dallas nightlife, performing at staple venues such as Red Jacket, Club One, and holding a seven-year residency at the legendary Lizard Lounge. His career would take him around the globe, with performances in New York City, Washington D.C., Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Toronto, London, Chicago, Los Angeles, and even Bangkok. He has also performed for major organizations, including the Dallas Mavericks, Brinker International (Chili’s), NovaTech, and more.

In the early 2000s, while running Stellar Music, Love was also signed to London-based Air Recordings, founded by DJ Ali B. The label released several of his singles as well as his first full-length album, Waiting for a Revolution.

A devoted vinyl purist, DJ Love is well known for spinning all-vinyl sets—a tradition he continues to this day. His performances showcase not just mixing, but also scratching, cutting, and creative blending, reflecting his dedication to the craft of DJing as a form of musical storytelling. Whether live on Twitch or on stage, DJ Love remains committed to the genres and sounds that first inspired him, carrying his passion for music into every set.

About Stellar Music

Stellar Music was founded in 1994 as an independent record label dedicated to underground sounds built for the dance floor. Born from a passion for hip-hop, electronica, and breakbeat culture, the label became DJ Love’s creative home—both as a platform to release his own music and as a space to craft soundtracks that push boundaries. At its core, Stellar Music is about celebrating the rhythms that move people—whether on a packed dance floor, through a pair of headphones, or on screen.

The label’s first release, SM001, dropped in 1997 as a limited vinyl pressing of just 100 copies. Since then, Stellar Music and DJ Love’s productions have earned recognition for their distinctive blend of breaks and hip-hop, along with collaborations that highlight the label’s underground spirit. Beyond the clubs, Stellar Music has also contributed original music for major brands, with commissioned work appearing in campaigns for companies such as Olay, Samsung, Verizon, and more.
